What a beautiful day here in Central/Southern Indiana! A bit picture heavy. ..but I couldn't help myself! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Pea family together today!

My guard dog for the chickens is our female Border Collie. If I say chickens give her 7 seconds and she will be right there every time. That's her spot.

My web site isn't working right! What I meant to say is they stripped the grass out of their pen. I replanted part of it, any other suggestions? The guineas free range, and the peas are penned up.

Are you using seeds or the squares of grass? Seeding the grass works best if that isn't what you are already doing. You can make a box around a patch of grass and cover the top of the box with small wire so that the peas can only eat the grass when it grows through the box but they can't destroy it. If you have an extra pen you can rotate them similar to how people rotate horses in pastures so that they never get the chance to totally destroy the grass in one pen. Maybe you could use more grass seeds? I find that if you overwhelm them with a ton of grass, they can't destroy it all.
