I think the ones in Alaska eat lots of fish, that may be their primary diet. Is yours sticking around year round? Here where I live, they are migratory, I think.


Edited to add: they show up in a couple of the wildlife refuges here in the winter time

They dont normally migrate but in the winter they hunt a larger area sometimes as much as 200 square miles so you dont see them as much.

Are you far enough north to get Snowy Owls?

We have one that flys down from canada and hunts on our fields. Wow is it georgous,

Yes, he is getting a small one with a couple of eyes.


He jumps for bread as well.

Turtee is too regal to jump, but she is all dolled up in her thick white winter parka these days! My son now calls her the "Goddess".

I've no idea how the mind of a 9 year old boy works???
