We got a little bit more snow and a Winter Weather Advisory from tonight at 5pm MST to tomorrow at 9am MST for 1 -3 in. of snow plus some possible ice.

I'm sick of the snow and ice now.

Now its not letting me post pics at/all! Sorry didn't mean to confuse, gardenpeas. I have a white peacock and two black shoulder hens. Does that clear it up?

I DID have a gorgeous silver pied that got lost shortly after we moved and I was lamenting I sold his son this summer before I realized he was the poppa. :(

Okay, so the Pied chick you sold came from a Silver Pied you no longer have, that explains a lot. With that cleared up, I stand by my previous answer to your breeding question!

These are my current birds and what I wondered I might get as babies. I was told the hen probably is low percent Spaulding since she has a lot of color on her neck. She is my sweetie and absolutely a huge hen! ( the one that sat on 8 eggs). Don't anyone tell her that kskingbee feeds his special breakfast while sitting)

Well, are the BS hens both India Blues? Are they split to white or pied or white eyed, or to any other colors? Do you know what the breeding is on the white? Is he India Blue under that white, or is he some other color, or split to some other color, and does he carry any white eye genes?

This is one of those "need more information" questions.... we really need more info or we have to make some assumptions to answer your original question.

If dad is IB White and moms are IB BS with no splits, kiddos would be IB split white split BS and would look like blue chicks with maybe some white feathers. If there are other genes in the parental genotypes, answer could change...

Edited to add -- I see you added pictures while I was writing this... Is one hen much lighter than the other? Are there any white feathers on her? What do you know about the male?

can anyone please tell me what kinds these are...I can get a great deal on all five I just want to know what they are .. here are the pics

the two birds up to anyone have an idea what they could be

same birds...what thinking to bs hens....but not sure

any thoughts....would be greatly appreciated...I was told that they are pied and not related....could they be bs pied hens.....?

They look like young black shoulder peacocks to me, but they could be young spalding black shoulder peahens. So are they 2014 hatch?

Spalding Black shoulder peahens can look just like a young black shoulder male, but I am leaning more to these both just being black shoulder males. As they age they will color in.

Black shoulder peahens have rust colored flight feathers - everyone says you know it is a male by the rust colored flight feathers, but that rule doesn't apply to black shoulders.
