Nowy goal is to get pics of Petey's underside. I am not sure he will cooperate!

I think it is more of a crème. If you can get better photos with better lighting that would help. Here is my India Blue peacock Alto to compare to. It is a very light color, not very dark. Spalding birds can have more of a darker tan leg feathering, and green peafowl and high % spaldings have blackish green leg feathers.

Ok he is pure IB then. Thanks, all. Minx mine looks just like yours, the leggings. Kskingbee, I aspire to have one like yours, but maybe in the female gender? :)

Petey and I talk, you know. He has told me if I get any more guineas he is leaving home. Also he is Suposed to be the main grape eater. All these young ins are just frustrating!

Boy I can tell Annie is his baby. I gave her some grapes for the very first time yesterday. I swear her eyes swirled back in her head! Too funny!

Sorry about photo quality, phone just doesn't take that good of pics. :(. All I got at the moment, well the iPad but it was on blink. Guess I had accidentally turned it to airplane mode! Wondered why I couldn't connect to anything!

Hopefully he will stop doing that with a little time. My white peacock used to do that. I would have to hide to get photos of him fanning his train.

Now he will display right in front of me.

How old is your green male? It wasn't until the end of last year's breeding season that my white peacock displayed in front of me and let me take photos.
He is at least 5 years old, i got him as a breeder last year.

was wondering about thoughts about doing the treating for the leg mites in the winter...I also have nu stock....well the question is that is close to zero degrees...how is this going to affect the birds legs....will it freeze on their legs...

We had to treat a hen for scalies, but we did it in the summer time. I just used good old Vaseline, coated both legs very thickly smearing upwards so it got in under the raised up scales on her legs. Repeated about 2 weeks later and her legs looked fantastic after about 6 weeks. I think she actually shed some of the loose raised scales. That said, since we coat our rooster's combs and wattles with Vasoline to prevent frostbite I would think it would be perfectly safe to use on Pea legs in winter.

thanks for the input...I will be getting pics of the legs in a bit...call me paranoid but I don't want bugs on my birds....or even the possibility of them....im new at the bird thing and I might be overacting but better to be safe then sorry and have a problem get worse....seems like when you fix something and then something else happens...its ben a pain...I havnt ben able to work on the coops....grrr....I also have found that most of the bird breeders I have been talking to don't really use an effective wormer...and some don't even worm at all...weird huh...but very true...I guess its what people can find by them and they don't feel as if they should do the research on worming meds or meds for that fact...I go overboard on when it comes to a problem...if you didn't notice already....but the birds are only as good as what you provide them.....my thoughts anyways...well be back in a flash with some pics

Yes plz put pics!!

@birdman55 you are not overreacting or going overboard, you are good steward of your flock. You only need to worry about how others tend to their flock when you consider whether you might bring them to your home. You just keep the attitude you have and your birds will always be happy and healthy.
