Peababies found a new playground and refused to go back in their pen yesterday. Their normal 1/2 hour of exploring and helping me with some of my chores turned into 4 hours of hiding under the porch and taking turns coming out to sunbathe, weed the flower bed (AKA-smash any flowers that have survived my lack of weeding), torment the dog and tease a couple roosters.
Of course I had to sit out there and watch them the whole time. What a way to spend my day off!

It's a black shoulder. I'm thinking purple (I see tiny spots of Purple in "his" neck now but fear it may be my wild imagination). I'm also starting to think "he" is a Spalding. It's personality stands out from the others and "he" is very much their leader.
I am very new at this too and would love to hear other's opinions.

I'm not great with BS unless it's IB BS but I'll take a guess. I'm going with male; Looking at the neck and breast you can see the color coming in, and the shape of the neck feathers. They are starting to show male and the breast feathers make me think of a young male chick as well.

As for your Spaulding reference I tend to agree based on the crest and facial features but I have no experience with them at all.. I'll let the "experts" chime in on that one!
