Show off your Peas!

I would be if I didn't have hubby to put his foot down and keep me straight.

When I worm my 100% free range chickens, I put a towel on the kitchen counter(ala casportpony), then go out after dark and carry them in one by one to worm or do whatever. This totally freaked hubby out the first time because he thought they would go nuts and fly/run all over the house trying to get away. He was very surprised by the fact that they just stand there and let me do whatever.

I tried that once and my wife did not like it at all so, I did what any good husband would do, "Shut up and color",

Dany, java peafowl is really rare here. I found only about 50 chick/season from online selling. Thats why I really want to breed them. Need a licenced to keep them, but my dad is retirement from forestry dept, so I dont have problem get licenced to keep and breed them. If maybe I can breed them, my calculation with 6 peahen is around 180egg/season, maybe I can get export permit, hopefully. My dad helped his friend who own arowana red (fish) farm to get export permit several years ago, so I quite pptimistic here. Above all, I love these birds..

Why not to create On Java an OFFICIAL STUD-BOOK of Pavo Muticus muticus javanensis ?

You have an excellent example here with Reinhold's farm :

https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/736439/official-stud-book-pmi-tn-for-pavo-muticus-imperator

Or Wolfgang :
http://www.pavo-muticus.de/english/index.html

At least 4/5 different blood lines of peafowl... peafowl coming from Baluran, Alas Purwo, Ujung Kulon ... etc ...
You will be the Official conservatory farm of Indonesia ....sale to the Ministry of forest every year dozens of young peacocks.
I bet you could get help from international organizations for the protection of birds.
There is a side "tourism" that could be interesting!

Greens are very hard to sex at that age, we need better and closer pics. Try and get closeups of each birds neck/chest area, legs (spur area) and the tail but they are still young and can fool even the experts, you might have to wait a bit longer.Hens in all species fan frequently so dont assume its a male because of that very nice greens regardless. The 2nd pic looks like a hen and the last one looks to have male legs but Im not positive we need closer pics and time. Gerald Barker
