I wish I could get some of my pea eggs to hatch!!! I suppose this will be a lot of trial and error for me but so far they develop but do not hatch out. I know I should be patient since I still have lots to learn but the photos of those freakin' adorable pea babies just gets me!

I will enjoy all I see here, at least!

Don't feel bad. This is only my 2nd year hatching pea eggs. I had a total of only 3 that hatched last year. 1 was my Prince, oops, Princess and I had another female. The other one ate an infected earth worm (can you believe that) and died. :hit If I can remember correctly and I will have to look at my records, I think Princess was hatched under a chicken. And the others were hatched in the incubator. I better check that out.

So I hope this year is better for me. I want more peas this year. I have no idea why because i don't have any room. :hit

Do you have any pea eggs incubating right now?

I feel ya! I have had a total of 1 hatch and it did not make it (my DDs dog). I have so far had a set of 3/1 hatch then 2/0 hatch then 1/0 hatch now have 3 in lockdown due tomorrow so :fl
I have let my young White hen sit on hers and her Moms eggs so 8 under her now, but she just started so they wont hatch till the 30th. All we can do is the best we can and hope for the best!

That is what they say.
I have plenty of eggs so i am doing a test i have 2 hatches coming up one on side one pointy side down.
I already hatched out a batch of eggs on their sides and lost 5 when they pipped way down below the air cell on the bottom of the egg where i could not see and they died in the shell, so i decided to see if it is just a fluke or a result of hatching on the side.

I have A GOF cabinet bator with auto turner, it turns like 14 time in 24 hours, i never have to open it unless i am candling eggs mid incubation so everything stays the same till lock down where i moved them to the hatcher.

So Mamma Peahen(Lucy) took the babies out for their first real outing today. We've had such rainy, cold weather, she has wisely kept them under her for the past 3 days since they hatched. So here they are on day 4 and she trecks them ALL over the yard...ALL day long! The poor little things .... were exhausted!!! I kept heading her off to get food and water to the babies!
By 3:00 I looked outside and saw this! I thought they were dead! No, the poor little things were so tired, they just dropped flat out! This is what you call CRASHED. Don't worry, they are fine now, and tucked safely in bed(under mamma) for the night.Dead Tired Peachicks!
