ya we are too close to the road actually, it was fine for a while but their circle has grown as they have and sadly we're building them a pen nowAll your birds are lovely! I have a question though, I noticed that you are close to the road, do your peafowl (and other birds) ever wander out onto it? Peafowl are naturally so curious that I would be afraid they'd try and go say hi to the cars passing by? How many peas do you have?

That sucks! hope it works, we'd all really miss you and your awesome pictsPuter , I just tried for the third time today, left and came back from feeding the peas and taking a new pup on the rounds and it still didn't go threw, I can't cancel it I have to leave BYC and start over.
That's hilarious! I thought they'd be like the chickens and come back to the coop at night. that did not work. every night we have to go out at dusk and lead them in. i'm to afraid to leave them out over night. when theirs snow on the ground we see coyote prints around the coop, so we know they're aroundWow autumnmfisher it is good to see you back and all of your pretty birds! It is too bad that you have to pen them, but they can still have fun in a pen. I tried free-ranging some peahens not too long ago and all they wanted to do was get back into the pen!
I down't know about either of those vines for sure, but I'm growing Honey suckle on my chicken coop, and its thriving. There are several types and I know a couple have flowers that can be made into tea for humans, so I figure its safe for the birds. I have two different kinds of honeysuckle vine( i know one is the Tea kind) that are 2 years on the coop now, and all my birds are alive....QUESTION - building a pen for the peas - going to use grape posts n chicken wire and put grape posts across the top and my plan is to grown wisteria at opposite corners and kiwi vine at the other opposite corners and let them cover the top and look pretty. I'll trim them back of course and make sure the peas get sun and they're not just in shade. question is - do peas have problems with either of these plants? and has anyone else ever done this? if so did it work good? I think it will be beautiful. if it doesn't work I can just cut them dead, the plants that is and leave the top the way we built it.
