Nice Pen, the only thing I see wrong is the chicken wire, anything but chickens can rip right threw it, of course if you are home all the time and lock them up at night they should be fine.
I like the rafter design, is that made like that to so the snow won't break it?

I posted these pictures on another thread as well, but I decided to post them here as well for all to see.

Bronze peachicks! There are four but one was hiding under the broody.

My India Blue split White peahen went broody so she has eight eggs.

OMG I love the look on this one's face! I want to put a caption that reads "Kiss My ..." or put a little leather jacket on him that says "Grease" on the back of it LMAO!

hope the chicken wire holds, didn't know that...
We did the rafter design because i want to grow grapes and kiwi vine over it, my friend has a porch like this and i love it.
so far they havn't even touched the wire, if they do, what should we replace it with? or is this a worry with preditors? we've had the chickens for years and never had a problem with any preditors. we are surrounded by our grape vineyards so - so far - nothing has come around.

Wow I have never seen a pen designed like that before! Is the chicken wire rust proof?
Thanks!
ya chicken wires rust proof, wish i'd known it wasn't good to use for peas. gonna leave it unless we have problems tho. It will look really awesome when the vines - grapes and kiwi - grow over it, which will take a couple years, but heck, peas live a long time :)

I have chicken wire that is going past the decade mark on some pens so Im trying to make you feel a little better about it autumnfisher. Also you can run a cheap electric fence around the top and/or bottom to keep predators out when using chicken wire.Thats what I do . Nice pen you built. You can always add heavier stuff to the frame later. I go to chain link when my chicken wire fails.
