Aww great peachick photos! It will be fun to watch them grow!
Your peahen picked a great place to nest, and that is a very pretty nest too. Did she line it with grass? It looks really really good!

Thank you for the infoI have chicken wire that is going past the decade mark on some pens so Im trying to make you feel a little better about it autumnfisher. Also you can run a cheap electric fence around the top and/or bottom to keep predators out when using chicken wire.Thats what I do . Nice pen you built. You can always add heavier stuff to the frame later. I go to chain link when my chicken wire fails.

Quote: I wish she did! She just originally dug a depression in the soil and mulch, but in NY we were having very rainy weather so I lined the nest with grass so that the eggs would not get as wet. The poor peahen would be soaked when it rained, so I made a little plywood structure to keep her dry. So far everything is good with her.
Beautiful peas indeed.Had a white Peacock hanging around the pea place for a few weeks. Fortunatley I have yet to tear down all the empty pens so I left the gate open to one and put food and water inside. He accepted my offering and yesterday I was able to walk him in and close the gate. Yes!![]()
Gotta new Pea! I named him Captain.
He looks to be about 2 years old to me but I am not very experienced with Peas yet.
Took a few more photos while I was there. Majesty came running down to the gate and presented himself in the most grand way when I started pulling up grass and clover for them.
I know the above photo is typically what you see with everyone's IB but I did not have one as good as this yet of my handsome man. Now I do! I am not a good photographer so it has been a challenge for me.
Jack has some lovely purple going on. I am just amazed at how awesome it comes out when the light hits it.
And my baby pea bird is doing good. I have more eggs under hens so I hope to have more than just this one this year. This is an IB but I have eggs from the silver pied and Bronze incubating under fuzzy butts.
