Show off your Peas!

I know a lot of picts of just one bird, but he's my only boy... Mark Anthony BS male, will be two years old in spring, scaredest bird we have, can't get anywhere near him he freaks. All the girls will eat from your hand, Houdina will jump right on you, she thinks shes a lap peahen, but this "man" bird, well, he ain't quite a man yet, scardy cat he is. These picts are the closest I've ever gotten to him, had him 1.5 years, slowly but surely getting closer. He has his protecter tho, Cleo BS hen, is right there saying why are you bothering him, shew.
I was lucky to get the pict of him flying, I like that pict.

The train station
I just caught that - very cute. And great pictures as always!

And great to see all the other gorgeous birds as well!
That Tulsa is a real ham!
Nice to see your gang autumnmfisher...
Hey! didn't Houdina used to be Houdini????
Reminds me of another change-up we have around here, Thor➜Thora.

And by the way, do any of you want to contribute pictures for the image database, to help people ID their peas????

I love your silver pied hen too! Her markings are almost perfectly even :)

It's still Thor not Thora. Yesterday photos of Thor and Calypso IB Pied. Thor is 7 months and Calypso is 6 months. I wish I took photos of him today. I will get some tomorrow.

Wow nice pictures autumnmfisher!

Birdrain92, please take one second at least to look at your pictures. How can you say Thor is a peacock when Calypso, a hen, has more "barring?"

I'm not looking at barring though. Their body structure. Thor has a long and oval like body while Calypso has short more circular body. Another reason is muscle mass. Thor has too much muscle at the base of the neck and breast to be a hen at his age. Calypso has not enough muscle mass around the base of the neck breast to be a male at her age. Everybody knows that male animals that are intact will have a greater muscle mass then that of a female. Look at horses the stallion's neck builds up with lots of muscle compared to the mare. Wherever there will be muscle build up an intact male will have more than the female Cattle, Chickens, Pheasants, Turkeys, Quail, Peafowl, Goats, etc.

Thora looks way too small to be male, IMNSHO.

Thanks guys :) yup I really really wanted "Houdini" to be a boy... cant deny she's Houdina now tho. Shes still a great escape artist. on one of those 30 below nights she broke out of the coop, I waited hours for her to fly down from a utility line, it was swinging in the wind so I knew she would, but she's stubborn.

Anyone else have a bird that just won't stay cooped??? if we had more land we'd free range, we tried that... our neighbors had peas in their barns and garages, had to give up and build a pen :(
