breeding an IB to an opal would get you split to opal birds. They would be carrying the opal gene but I am not sure if they would show it at all. In other words they would look just like an India Blue peafowl.

Haha thank you! I will definitely keep you in mind but it sounds like you will have peafowl before I have birds available. I am selling all my eggs to AugeredIn this year and next year I guess is when I will get back to selling birds.

You can't eat till you get your IB's? Boy you are hooked!

Opal is not a sex linked color.

So IB X Opal would give you all chicks that are IB split to opal, meaning they will look IB but will carry recessive genes for Opal.
