Show off your Peas!

I have a few whites being sent to me mid month next month. They were hatched last month I believe so a few months of age when they arrive. I've never had to integrate youngins with older peafowl. Mine free range but I wonder if it would be best to pen the newcomers for a few months first.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mandy

I don't see cameo black shoulder hens, maybe they are split for BS?!

Yes, one or some of these hens produced black shouldered chicks. The breeder who sold off these birds had all kind of genes mixed up in all his stock. The Pied White Eyed cock produced some Cameo chicks with some of these hens and a Black Shouldered cock produced Cameo chicks as well as Black Shoulder chicks with these hens. Every hatch is like Christmas morning, or Forrest Gumps box of chocolates, I never know what I am going to find in the hatcher.

Bought White and Black Shoulder from Cameo hen.

Back view of BS chick and Mindy, from Dylansmom.

Side views.

Boughten White chick and chick from Dylansmom on right.

Possible Black Shoulder cock?

Middle chick is from Dylansmom

This chick is the same as in the first picture only three weeks older.
Do you see any BS in this one? Ignore the three specks of bird crap between the head and shoulders.

Ellymayrans,

definitely, i would put them in a pen where all the other peas can drop by and get to know them until after Christmas , turning them loose with an established my leave you with no more white wee peas as established flocks are territorial and will chase a newcomer sending them to the trees and where ever else they fly off to

they need time to home in on their new territory.
Congratulations, i love the white

I agree with Zaz, that last one looks like an Cameo BS (Oaten for many of us) and I am gonna go out on a limb here and say you will be changing Mindy's name to "Mork" soon.
