I think its normal, I have peach hen that looks like yours.

I have no idea why her "skirt" looks so big.

I am just amazed at how perfect it looks. When my hens sit and hatch they have the ugliest, broken-up looking feathers back there, nothing like yours.

I don't believe that I have any Spaulding blood in any of my birds but I can't completely rule it out. I did sell a pair last spring that the head crest was very tight but I don't know it that means much on a yearling.

If it were a cock those feathers would be train feathers right? I will keep my camera at hand for when she displays, that might be a cool pic...
