Show off your Peas!

That's a good very good point... Always do a thorough exam, 'cause sometimes they injured. Last year I saw one of mine looking depressed and drooping both wings, but one was drooping more than the other. I waited a couple of days, then decided I should take a look at her and was horrified by what I found! Somehow she had caught her right wing on something and completely dislocated it... Not only was it dislocated, there was a huge tear in the skin and the ends of both bones were sticking out.

I think my Big Blue (peacock) was getting his revenge! When he was little the guineas picked on him. The table has turned! Just watching them this morning the peacock is doing the picking. I think he might have done the damage to the little guinea!

Though sometimes, in certain lighting, I would say their colouration is "Fresh Fajitas"

those are cameos and i do hope they are well as they look a bit fluffed like they are not feeling well.

Thank you for the honesty/pointers. I had assumed they were stressed from the move. But I put them under a heating lamp this morning and they have become a lot more 'comfortable' and animated. I guess I over-estimated them, thinking they were hardy enough like the chickens.

Glad they are feeling better... Definetly not as hardy as chicken chicks, lol, mine like the temp to be at least 80-85 degrees. :D

As chicks they are much more delicate than chickens, but as adults they will be hardier and more cold tolerant than many chickens ever are. I know many people who have Peas that roost outside in ice storms without much bother. I can't quite bring myself to allow mine to do it though.

I miss the babies,

Guess it is time to order some chicken chicks that will not grow up to be broodies

i got more broodies than i do layers and most of them ain't got an egg under them, they are committed old girls even on an empty nest

Nanu's crest will grow out it's tight upright stance they are just crowed and all trying to grow in at the same time, i have seen tight upright crest in juves here pretty often.
