No need for the tail shot, I do believe that is a Cameo BS male, that close up of the back seems to show that familiar "laced" pattern and it would explain the darker tan spots on the front of the neck, and the markings on the wings look male as well. When you compare it's back to the obviously BS male next to it you can see the same pattern just lighter colors. So.........Congrats Bill, it's a boy!

Yea! I think. DW said we have to re-name him now. So that absolutely confirms that Elvis is a IBBS/Cameo. We wanted more BS hen chicks but this is cool too. Thanks for helping noodle this out!

KsKingBee, I hatched out some cameo blackshoulder spaldings before, and your chick is darker than mine ever were (they were out of a split cameo dad so I only hatched hens). I still have one and not sure if I will keep her. They do look nice. Mine faded a lot and now she is regrowing those darker feathers. You have sine nice chicks!

Thank you. Some of the pics looked much darker that they do in person, those were the pics using the flash.

Suspect #2, also cameo BS male. Congrats on the two, it's so satisfying to find out the complete genetic makeup of your birds if they are questionable!
