It is 23 here this morning with a wind chill in the lower teens. My hens aren't about to take their Parkas off long enough to lay an egg!

That's balmy, it was 6 above here last night but I think you will be getting some of this this weekend. Enjoy.

We are actually on a warming trend, they are saying today will be our coldest

. Mid fifties by Sunday and close to 60 Monday, bikini weather!

Supposed to be 74 here today, so can't complain, except to say that it won't be warm enough for shorts and flip-flops.

I'm a gardener and that's why I thought Peas as in vegetables. I've never gotten into Peacocks though they are beautiful. I travel and am too busy to invest the time needed.

My comment was really meant to give you folks a laugh at my ignorance.

Not so much the bawdy town names, which of course shows just how much our language changes.

See my picture? I have peas in my garden too

Not much more work than chickens, just a bit more square footage. Plus as you can tell, this is definitely a fun group. We can fix you right up next spring

(And my peas do love their chickens

Welcome, and please join us -- a sense of humor is always welcome

Guy was in shorts here yesterday, 40-ish... He looked pretty comfortable. I'm not that tough anymore now that I'm an old fogey

x2,,, mine didn't even want to come outside to EAT

The tweety birds probably ended up with most of their chow, so I'll have to take more food out later when it warms up a bit. And warm water, because the waterers are definitely frozen solid this morning.

I have been making the kids mash with hot water every morning and evening, they seem to like getting their food hot. Another benefit is that they are getting lots of moisture and are not that interested in drinking water.
