Well you were smart to do it while you could get the posts into the ground without killing yourselves.

Good thing it rained yesterday. Most of the posts we could at least place and shove in by hand but we would hit it with the post pounder to make sure it is in the ground well.

MiniFox, you had a good idea so I tried it. I built a 10' box about 8" high an plated it with rye in the peas pen. It has been extremely rainey here and the rye is already up. Oh I also covered it with 1" sq wire so the grass would grow up through it but they couldn't pull it up. They love it so now they still get something green this winter!

Oh bye the way we killed about a 20 lb coon this morning. We found it in a trap outside my pea pen this morning! I know something was trying to get in. It is chain link fencing with chicken wire about 4' high on the inside. It has chicken wire on the 6' fencing. It is about 40' x 30' sitting on RR ties the coop is a8' x 10 metal building sitting on RR ties. I keep them locked up at night in the coop. There is no way for anything to get in but still shakes me up to find a coon trying too!
