Show off your Peas!

She may have wanted to switch roost areas and were waiting the young ones out  and ended up going back to where thy were, i see that happen here when one tries to switch trees

I know anything is possible but it was so out of character for her. She has Never been in a tree. Not to get away from a predator or just for fun. My cock has only done it once and that was when I first got him about a year ago. My teenage son didn't shut the door, he wandered out and my son startled him. They will go to the deck, shed, roofs, play set but never the trees. I thought for as many are around that they would but they don't.

I'm very glad it wasn't for any bad reason, of course I thought the worst!

Not sure if I shared these here or not, I know I did on our state thread, but the babes have started displaying a lot lately. Of course it's a chain reaction when one does it the other follows right along. Pretty sure now they are both boys.

Not because of the displaying but they both are getting small loose barbed feathers.

I know it's not the best of pics but he was far away.
He is just allowing me to be so much closer to him. So glad. It's one thing when I have something he wants but he will display right next to me.
You can see my boot in the pic. That's how close he was to me. Lol. So fun!

Now dalimna. So I now have 3 boys and only 1 hen. Hmmm. Someone has peas for sale not too far. They have very nice pens and have breeding trios of Cameo we, midnight and White. I'm not sure if I want more grown birds or just hatch from my current pair to add to my hens. I don't need more boys. I'm sure they won't sell the hens apart from the males. I just don't know what is my best option. If I hatch from my pair are their issues if I bred those back to their father? I know it's not bad for chickens. Not sure about peas.

So glad your momma pea turned up.

I get worried if mine aren't where they are supposed to be.

My white was displaying today and he didn't even mind me taking pics! A first for him.

hope this helps yah...some good info to read....wow didn't know they were one of the biggest birds out there...

well on the home front I wormed the three older birds...that was easy..then went to the other greenhouse to worm the new birds....wow...lets just say not very human friendly.....I don't think there was that much human interactions...those were difficult to do before dark...so only got three of them done and four to go tomorrow...cant wait till those are done...man those birds are so strong...and ofcourse cant forget I got pooped on....I think its better to just walk around in the coop with the net not scaring them but letting them get there pooping done before you worm them buggers....well hope everyone had a great day...got a lot done...tonight the second coolerbator will be done...and just found out that one of my white birds is going away...I got a bird from someone for free and now they are looking for a white bird and I told her I have a bunch so now we are even...so that should be happening this coming weekend....ok im done....lol
