Show off your Peas!

So I am guessing you can't get close enough to herd him into a pen?
You can put just a few treats in front of the pen door, just like 5 pieces, then the rest will be inside the pen. He might have to get a taste for the food first, so you might have to throw out the treats for him for a few days then for several days stop giving him the treats then he will be excited to get them again and hopefully he will enter the pen to get the treats.

You might be able to lure him into the car garage and close the door on him then catch him and put him in a pen.

When Ice ran away and we found her in someone's backyard, we used a fish landing net to net her. That wouldn't be very easy to use on a peacock though.

I could see a cast net working for a full length peacock but I would be worried to use a cast net on a bird especially if the weight on the cast net hit the bird on the head.

When he paces along the side of the pen, that is when you could try to slowly guide him to an open pen door. Usually when one of my birds gets out and they pace the pen fence, I just slowly direct them down the fence until they get to the open door. They usually run right through the door once they realize it is open.

I wasn't sure if he wanted to pen it.

He is pacing along the pen, and when my peas escape they pace the fence to get back in. He probably wants to be in with the other birds.

Here I can't really free-range. The busy road and all would make that difficult, and I don't live where I keep my peas so I can't watch them. I forget about the luxury of free-ranging.

Anyways Birdrain can do whatever he wants of course, if he wants to catch him I was just giving tips for catching.

Guess who's coming??
400

And
400

I just ordered them from Leggs. I was so happy with Emerald that I went ahead and ordered a male and female white pea that are about 9-10 mo old!

WOW that is strange thanks for sharing i do not like horse flys at all they can be real bad here some times.

Not sure if ya been here in this area before but just in case:
I have been here before and posted but thanks! I don't post often b/c my birds are so young and not near as beautiful as everyone else's. I did catch my boys showing off to the mandarin ducks the other day. Hopefully I can sell one of the males this spring, that will give me a cock & a hen.
