he has plenty of ties for the peafowl...lol....but i do think that would be a good idea with the crates..lure him in...you could even get a sensor instal it by the door and put the main unit by you in the house and anything that would go in ....it would "ding"...letting you know something was there....just hope you dont get yourself like a bear in there...

Those stock dogs of his would set off more than a "ding" if a bear showed up

I just remembered he only has two pens right now, and is working on a third for the soon-to-be white birds. But if there is a pen with two girls, maybe this nice IB male can join them?

I didn't do much posting while on vaca. , but I tried to keep up on reading each morning so I wouldn't feel hopelessly lost when I got back. Wasn't sure how I had missed a new bird at Birdrain's place.

This weather! I'm ready to run off again, just thanking you know who that I do not live anywhere near Boston! I was emailing with a Fly tyer who buys feathers from me and he said the snow pile in front of his house is now as high as the middle of his second story windows.

thats alot of snow...and here i thought the four inches we got was alot...hahaha...when do you think the breeding season will be here in michigan...i need to get a rough time so i know how much longer i have to build these pens....other wise the pair will just go into my empty 10x16 for right now

I have only had peafowl for 3 years. 2012 January 4 was when I got my first set of 3 males and 1 female. It was an all or nothing deal. No he called me asking if I've seen a blue goose and I told him it was a peacock and he asked if he could shoot it and I said no. Genie got away within a week of having him. He figured out that if he rams into the door hard enough he can open it and that's how he got away.

I was thinking a webcam on the pen with hens in crates... you could see if he starts going in and out. Or start with webcam view of general area.
