Indeed he is! And practice makes perfect, hang in there buddy, you be nice to those gals.

I got an egg from the Purple hen yesterday, I am really hoping it turns up fertile! Her daddy was BS and she has some white wing feathers so who knows what I could get, I love surprises. Feel like I am so far behind everyone else though. @KsKingBee what do you suppose the chances are of my 1 year old Barney hen being seriously broody and sticking to it? I caught her spending the night in the nest box Wed. night, but she spent all day yesterday out with the other chickens, she spent last night in there again, and so far today hasn't come out. I would love to give her some Pea eggs, but only if she is serious!

We set them with chicken eggs for a few days until they are seriously commited, then swap out the eggs with the pea eggs. Uh, we are talking chicken hen, right? I guess it wouldn't matter, I'd still set her with chicken eggs first.

Yes, she's a chicken, Barnevelder. This is her first time going broody and she's got 2 chicken eggs and one ceramic dummy under her. I actually lifted her up and checked underneath to see if she had anything other than the dummy egg. Good thing for me she's a sweet natured hen, she yelled and made one fake lunge at my hand, but was otherwise fine. So I'll maybe give it a couple days and see if she stays put?

Maybe give her more chicken eggs?... Some of my hens are more likely to stay put when they have several eggs.
