Show off your Peas!

His crest sometimes looks fanned, but not like the others. Sometimes it doesn't look fanned at all.

This picture is from a couple weeks ago. I started thinking Spalding after I went back and looked at it. Something about his face doesn't look like the others.

Okay, so I'm pretty sure his neck darkened up overnight! :D
I'm also convinced he is male looking back over my pictures and seeing how much darker he is getting over the last couple weeks.
So I'm going to say he is purple BS. Anyone else? Here are a couple from this morning.

So I'm pretty sure I have 3 females.

Definitely darker I would say Purple BS. But I've never raised Purples nor Purple BS.

I would say hens as well

These 2 I'm not 100% sure.
Looks like hens

and two males
Males
Up tight crest can happen if they hit them on something pushing them together.

Ok I am lost.
I clearly have two little boys here that are supposed to be BS
I got two new little ones and they are both supposed to be BS but the pairs are far too different to all be BS. My little ones, one is def a hen the other a boy.
So who's BS and who's not?

@adrakeNice Peababies. That first picture is really clear and I can definitely see the difference between yours and my Purple BS. I'm very novice but I've looked at a LOT of BS pics lately. I'm positive your first two are BS. Indiana Blue I assume. Not too sure they are boys though.
I'm pretty sure they're all BS. Is it possible the others are a different color or maybe Spalding? I'm going to go all out and say the dark on is male, the lighter female(novice guess). Is it just me or are the darker one's legs way bigger?
I'm sure someone more experienced will have a better idea.

Thank you!
So the first set are my supposed BS and they are about 3-4 months old and I'm pretty sure they're boys.
Picture 2, 3, 4 are supposed to be BS and I think the dark lil one us a boy and the lighter is a girl.
I'm just not sure what I've got going on! Thank you for the answer :) I'm novice too.
How old are yours?
Do you have pics?

Check out post 9021.You'll see he looks nothing like your first two. He is 15 weeks so about the same as yours. If you scroll down a few posts you can see a slightly younger picture and see how much he has darkened over a couple weeks. That is why I'm saying he is male.

They are all BS peafowl. How old are the BS in the 2,3, and 4 photo? I'm not too experienced with BS. I can sex them some what but the first 2 BS are iffy. I think they might be hens since they're not getting much black for their age compared to other BS males I've seen and compared to your other BS male. Based on neck feather shape and coloration I think your first two might be hens. Your hens have more of charcoal grey instead of jet black or at least in the photos.

This is my BS hen at a year old and you can see similarities in neck feathers on the front. The green on the back of the neck can variety from hen to hen. I've seen IB BS hens have no green on their neck and some with more green like the one hen.

Thank you!

I'm going to agree with Dustystrail here, your first 2 look like hens to me(basing that on wing feathers and pattern on back), the second 2 look like a pair, the darker one being the male. Compare his wing feathers with the others, you should see a darker wing with more patterning on it.
