Show off your roosters

Good! He always jumped out. Too bad he’s gone now. Oh well.

It is kind of funny how a chicken/rooster jumps out of their cage, and then wants back in 🤣
I have a Silkie that would fall out of the henhouse on purpose, just so I can put him back inside.

Lots of beautiful roosters! I hope these are not pictures I've posted elsewhere.

If he were that old, then he outlived his lifespan that's 5 - 10yrs.

I don't think I agree with this, personally. I think their natural lifespan is longer than we give them credit for, just that so many of them die from outside forces like predators and ailments and it makes them seem like they're shorter lived overall. I have many birds in the range of 8, 9, 10+ years old not showing any signs of slowing down, for example. I can think of only a few over the years who have passed before those ages from anything that couldn't be explained by an outside force.

Also, I took pictures of my other three guys this morning while I was opening coops. 😁 This is Axel, my Barred Plymouth Rock bantam boy:

And the Chocolate Mottled Orpington boys. Bruner is the one with more white, Rayburn the one with less white. (I may or may not have a major soft spot for these puffball boys so I took several pictures of them :p They're just such big lugs 😍 )
