I say there, now that's a nice looking rooster! Which ancestors provided the feathers on the legs? Which, I'm sure are numbered just in case of an emergency

The leg feathers come from his bhrama (spelling?) genes. He knows he's handsome. :)

Hmm...I've never really thought about it. I like both, I like the "spikes" on the straight combs, my BO has them and it gives him a punky look sometimes

(so far he is very well behaved, no aggression). The rose comb is quite regal looking and I can see where it might be more desirable with cold temps. So...I will have to study up on them.
One question though, does it seem the rose combs take a lot longer to develop than straight. Most of my straight comb breeds have nice combs-girls and boy, but the wyandottes rose comb is still really small.

I do think they take a little longer to grow, but in the end, I love the look!
