show quality speckled sussex ??

Out of Curiosity - HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THEM TO GROW BACK NEW TAIL FEATHERS ? ? ?


This guy won't let me near him. - - - So the pics are no where as nice as previous shots.....

I tried really really REALLY hard and just could not get a chest view of this boy.
Yesterday, he was hiding in the woods and I couldn't get any shots of him.

I hope after I sale of few of the others.... he will come out so I can get a better look at him.

Lisa, this male has basically the same faults the other males have and that is normal if they are brothers. Tail, twisted comb, white in tail. You could raise some pretty yard birds out of these for that Florida weather though. Just remember use these males and the young will have basically the same problems.

If a person had a male like this and some decent SOP type SS female you set down a line of SS real quick. This male has the right amount of white to be a good breeding male.

I asked where she got him earlier too...... I don't think she has said yet. I'd REALLY love to know!!!

This is what the standard says:

Neck: HACKLE, lustrous mahogany bay, each feather having a narrow black stripe in lower half of web, the black stripe decreasing in width near end of feather
and then branching off to outer edge of each side of shaft near point. POINT OF FEATHER distinctly marked with diamond shaped white spangle.

Could we get a close up view of your roo's neck feathers to see if they have this "DAIMOND" shape white spangle ?

In raising these Spangled fowl a really good SOP marked males will seldom produce the desired amount of color on his chicks. Did I tell you that I like the Type and Vigor of this SS male.
