thanks so much for your kind words! I right she was decent, especially for hatchery! her back is quite a bit lighter in color than the rest, I think the rest of her body the mahogany is ok. I'll have to try to figure out the hump. my guess is it's just ruffled feathers from all these bad little cockerals. I need to separate them out until they learn some manners. I came down with a terrible cold, so I might not get around to doing anything for a few days.

Hi, do the toe punch and slit on day one as they hatch. You can do a combination punch and slit and have 80 combinations.

With what instruments do you punch and or slit the "toe" with? Sorry if you answered this in another post I am still working my way through.

You can purchase a toe punch from many poultry supply web sites. Look around, they range from $4 on up. I have seen them on ebay too. They look like mini paper punches but are mainly flat. I use a small pair of sharp scissors to do slits.
