I saw this thread once before but didn't have time to post then and lost it, so I'm posting now so I can find it again. I'll look for some pics to post.

Wow yes bobcat, the view is stunning! I've never even visited places where there's so much forest. The mist adds a nice effect too. No particularly big mountains in South Australia.

Wow, reminds me of my old house! Do you happen to be by Santa Cruz, Monterey, or Half Moon Bay by any chance?

Someday we are going to visit Australia. We have some money saved and are waiting until our daughter is old enough to really appreciate the adventure. My husband got to go on a quick business trip (3 days). I think he felt guilty because he bought a large Ken Duncan panoramic photo of Geikie Gorge which I think is in Western Australia. I have lived in the east coast (Maryland), west coast (California), mid-west (Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri,Kansas,Indiana), south (Florida), and north (Michagan) of the United States and every place has something special.

By the way, that forest has bobcat, fox, deer, mountain lion, black bear, and a variety of other wildlife. Our dog is wonderful at keeping the wildlife away from the chickens. I do have to admit I only let them out to free range when I and the dog are home. She doesn't look like she would chase off anything in this photo but believe me nothing gets near the house.

That is such a cute picture!! Aww. She sounds great. I've always wanted a dog, they're lovely animals.

I don't think I've ever seen any sort of bear. I'm a little deprived, I know.

Australia's full of kangaroos. You find them near the highways, randomly popping up out of the undergrowth. You'll probably see a couple when you come
