It's hugely upsetting when that happens and we have no idea why. I usually don't have trouble with blues or splashes hatching, but have a lot of problem with lavs. 12 lav x lav/splits should hatch Thursday or Friday, and then 9 that are lav x lav and lav x buff should hatch 3 days later. In two different bators. Hope they come through.
I have two beautiful splash showgirl hens--one with bowtie, one without--and hope to have some splash SG babes this season.
Hello everyone! Am going to join this thread as I also love my SG's. Just starting out. Have a whole bunch of Fowlrus' babies running around, plus a bunch of Silkies.
Can someone tell me what Lefaber's mix is?
Here's a pic for you, this is Norbert, my 1st ever SG. A face only a mother could love.
Norbie turned out to be a pullet (yay) and a very pretty white one at that.
I will try to get more pics, but as it is only 4 degrees here, it won't be any time soon. LOL
BTW, my Silkies and SGs are all out in the barn and are doing great. No heaters or lamps. They are very hearty birds, and snuggle up together in their great big Silkie pile and stay warm.
ParadisePoultry- I LOVE your avatar! Too cute! Angie has awesome birds! I would love to see more pics but 4 degrees... I would not dare go out to take them LOL! The one you posted is too cute!
@ Paradise Poultry Lefaber's mix is a baby bird formula you can get it at Pet Smart in the bird section. It will be in a plastic tub (like butter) for around 10 bucks. My vet put my Edward on it for a while. I keep it on hand now.
