Oh good to know! I may need to add it to my medicine cabinet! I have a hen that is soooo thin all of a sudden. I brought her in the house yesterday. I gave her PolyVisol in her water and a nice mix of medicated chick food (figured it couldnt hurt) boss, cracked corn, flax seed, and game cock feed. I haven't really seen her eat but she did drink some of the vitamin water. I checked for extrenal parasites and no mites or anything. I don't know if I should worm her or not? She is sooo thin. I am going to scramble some eggs for her now. I also heard canned salmon can be really good to put weight on so I may try that.

SimplySplendidSilkies- Is Edward ok? I didn't know he wasn't feeling well. I hope he is doing well he is such a handsome boy!

Oh and totally off topic but I found some Hotots!!! Looks like I am picking them up a the Farm Show on Sat!!! I am so excited! See you soon!

Rilly if you have a thin hen I highly suggest the Lefaber's it really helped Edward and for 10 bucks well worth it. Thanks for asking about Edward he is doing well, and started crowing 9 or so days ago. My boy is becoming a little man.

I do love him so. When the weather is better I will get some pics of he and Gaga. Things have been crazy with Christmas and my hubby being home I really have not had any me time. He just redeployed yesterday so I will rest up a few days and then should be right back in the ball game. I have 30 silkie eggs due to hatch on the 10th and 2 dozen arriving tomorrow. Yay! No showgirl eggs yet but working on it. I had rather wait on eggs from my 2 and just keep improving my silikes in the meantime. I was sorry to read the eggs you got from Nikki did not hatch. I was waiting on pics of them and hated that for you.

Thanks, it was a bummer. But I do have more lav and split sgs in the incubator so we will see. I also have 2 really nice blue cockerels growing out now to pair with my splash sg so maybe in the spring I will have some fertile eggs from her.

For the lefabers how do you feed it? Is it liquid? She is a really nice lav hen. I bought her right after nationals and put her right in with my sg lav roo and she lost condition I think from all of the stress. She is really nice so I want to nurse her back quickly! Glad Edward is ok!

Rilly you will mix the Lefaber's with very warm water. 103 if I am not mistaken. It will be very thick. My Edward loved it and ate it right up. I just put it in a little dish, eventually I started mixing it with crumble to wean he and Gaga off of it. It is very sweet. Yes I tried it before giving it to them.

If your girl is still eating just offer this over the crumble you may have to thin it out some though. I wish I kept a scale I could weigh him but scales are not allowed in my home. He was under weight. But is doing so much better now.
Good luck with your girl. Wish I lived closer you could have some of mine.

Ok, this girl is kinda a fluke... I went to purchase a new white silkie and they had her (we think its a her anyways). As I know nothing about the show girls, what I'm gathering is she's a bowtie blue frizzle showgirl? Am I correct?

I just bathed her, so I will get a better photos tomorrow. Some of her feathers haven't finished drying. She is also lacking a LOT of feathers on the face.

I'm wondering about breeding her with my show quality white bearded rooster?
