Darling! And yes, they make me smile. Never thought I would have one, now I have a couple, and more in the bator. One is about your age I guess..running around outside in the grow out pen, having a blast with the other babies. The other one is still in the house. A buff. Now, if I can just get a girl out of one of them.. thinking I will keep one of the ones in the bator now. They will all be muffed and bowtie.

I had really hoped for a naked neck roo to put in with my Silkies to speed things up, but Lazer was only one of two that hatched and was the only SG. I've got some nice White Silkie pullets from the last hatch, so he should be good to go with them. Of course, we'll get nothing but Bow Ties, but I can work from there.

Dbbi, here is my white girl..she is a bit older than yours, but not by much.

A distant shot.

Up close. Don't you love those puffy little tails?

lazer is sooo beautiful .

Here are the chicks from my recent hatch on 6/19/12.. I was able to hatch all from hen #35 and my bearded cockerel. at the time she was the only one laying in that pen. I set 10 eggs all devoloped but only six hatched and one was a silkie. Half have good toes and the other half are either missing a toe on one foot or only have four toes. I was hoping i could figure out which is thronging the bad toes.(hen or roo)? I believe this will take some time. and very tedious record keeping. Has any one tried this? If so do you have any suggestions that could speed up the process.
