Wow, I see this thread has been active for many years! lol I love it! I just purchased some silkie and showgirl chicks last month. New to silkies and showgirls. I LOVE THEM. I need to take some pics I guess. Was hoping to get some official pictures done this week. They are from partridges. One looks like he is black with some partridge and red coloring coming in. He is lovely. Anyway, came searching for information on breeding, etc. Can't wait to learn more! Loving the pics and information on this thread so far

is this a silkie sizzle showgirl? I'm new to the whole sizzle and frizzle thing. And if I breed this to a splash silkie what are the chances of

more sizzle or frizzle?

Cute girl!! That one is a Frizzled silkie showgirl. (If it is furry and curly it is a frizzled silkie showgirl ) , My last silkie picture has feathers like that. Then if it is a silkie with regular hard feathers and curly it's a sizzle If it is a sizzled showgirl then I call them Shizzles

If you breed that one to a regular Splash Silkie then you will get both regular silkied feathers and frizzled silkie feathers (1/2 and 1/2) and about 1/2 will be showgirls and 1/2 silkies :yiipchick

I have decided to not breed showgirls. If anyone is interested I have two black frizzled silkie roosters

I bred my turken hen to my Swedish Flower Rooster and ended up with gorgeous Turken X with flowers and bow ties, daily layers. Now I am breeding my best buff with white flowers X hen to my quality white Silkie rooster. First hatched was two chicks under a broody. One was bright yellow, feathering in buff, and the other was blue. Both naked neck and bow tie. Wings seem to have non Silkie feathers and bars. Hard for me to tell if they will have Silkie feathers elsewhere. Third chipmunk stripe chick is a RIR x swede, I'm not asking about her.
I am really curious if anyone has theories on how they will look when grown.
