Shy Chicken

My hen, which is an Orpington is very shy. I'm not talking your regular shy. Very shy. One time I walked next to her with a badminton, which the birdy was right next to her and she flapped her wings and ran off. She is the biggest of all of them, still is the shyest of all of them. I hardly see any pecking. Now I need to know what is making her so scared?

I have one like that. She's the smallest of my 3 though. She's always been shy and a little skittish. She likes to hang out in the coop while I'm in the run and is hesitant to come out until I leave. Not sure what she thinks I'll do to her lol. I've had her since she was 3 days old and I've never hurt her. At least not intentionally? She's really sweet though.
