Its not neighbors dogs..My road has at most 10 houses on them. I know for a fact none of the dogs that showed up are from this neighborhood.That leads me to believe someone was running coons over the mountain or they are simply lost.
I will not build a fence. Period. Its not the cost but a fence isnt what I want on my property
So then maybe people say ..well its your own fault for not protecting your chickens etc.
I am sticking by what I have said before. Why should I have to suck up the cost to protect my animals when other people get away with not taking care of the animals, but then get upset when they get shot because they are running and killing lifestock.
Anything that comes onto my property is getting a bullet.( see below)
People need to start taking responsibilty for their animals.I do. all my animals stay on MY property, are neuered or spayed and have all their shots. I expect others to do teh same thing to my animals IF they ever get onto someone elses property and kill their lifestock.That would be my fault and no one elses.
we have one neighbor that lets their beagle run loose all the time .He goes on my property all the time looking for my female dog to play with .BUT he is so afraid of the rooster he runs baying back to his house when he sees him.THAT I dont mind cause I know he wont hurt them and its actually pretty funny that he runs like a little girl screaming back to his house.
I am not intent to shoot every little pup and kitten that comes onto my place but any dog or cat , coon, etc that is harming my chickens will get the pet cemetary treatment.
Dont fence me in..
