so I bought chicks from someone local. not vaccinated. possibly cinnamon queen two day old. when I put them in my pen I noticed their breathing seemed to be labored. today one is dead and the other is clearly not well and eyes either swollen shut or crusted. I dipped beak into the water several times and I will take a cue-tip and saline to the eyes. Never seen this. No other birds (18) seem to be affected. yet

Buying from a private source invites this sort of thing. Just as puppy mills bring all kinds of grief, so do these breeders that have no ethics or even any idea of biosecurity to protect the birds and community at large.

That said, you've likely got yourself a respiratory disease on your hands. If you can find Tylosin soluble powder at a pet store, that's what you need to treat this. Or order it here. https://www.jedds.com/shop/tylan-soluble-100-g/
