One of my thirty 8 week old chicks has diarrhea and has for the past 5-6weeks. I started giving it electrolytes as soon as I noticed it was sick but it hasn’t improved. It doesn’t seem to be lethargic and eats and drinks regularly as far as I can tell. Any diagnosis or suggested treatment?

Also, I didn’t/ haven’t quarantined it from the rest of the brood. I was so busy it didn’t even occurred to me till now.

One more note, we have been feeding the chicks medicated chick starter and I believe they are still on it.

I would get some Corid (amprollium) liquid or powder in the cattle medicines at your feed store to treat for possible coccidiosisi. Dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water (the only source) for 5-7 days. Change water daily, and it is safe for the others. You can reduce dosage to 1/4 of that for an additional 5 days. Do not use electrolytes or vitamins while on Corid.

I have been feeding them medicated chick starter which is medicated with amprolium since I got them. Any other Ideas as to what it is or what I should do?
