Hi. I am looking for help or advice regarding our 1 year old Buff Orpington. We got her as a chick and she seemed to have breathing problems and we didn't expect her to make it. Despite her comb always being flopped over to one side, she has been a great chicken and has never shown any other signs of illness. For the past few days, she has been very lethargic and her comb seems to be shriveling and turning dark colored (blackish/bluish). Anyone know what this could mean??? I am worried that we are going to loose her--she is not doing well. I have read that this could be a sign of blood circulation or liver problems. She has no other symptoms (no cold symptoms, bugs or mites, vent is clean) The only other thing that I can think of is that I have recently put down some lawn patch repair kit (grass seed/fertilizer mix) up around our house. I have seen the chickens getting into it several times trying to eat the seed and I have shooed them away. All of our other chickens seem perfectly healthy and are displaying no symptoms. Called vet on Friday but she was out of office and have still not received a call back. Would greatly appreciate any advice!!!
