Sick chicken for 6 months

Thanks for re-posting the photos. It's a big help.

I can't say it's Marek's as I've only seen photos of the feather follicle involvement with the disease. The follicles look rounded and swollen, like a bad case of goose bumps. Your hen's skin looks more wrinkled like a brain. Her eye looks normal, also. In Marek's the eye can appear bluish and the pupil will be smaller, looking more like a human eye.

So, no, there is no reason to think she has Marek's unless she has leg problems. Her skin is a definite concern, though. It's as if she's lost a lot of weight and her skin is folding back on itself. I can't say I've seen anything like it. For the dryness, I would use coconut oil on the exposed skin. Or maybe open a vitamin E capsule and rub that into the wrinkle skin.

I think its an fungle infection that irritating her skin do u check for lice and mites?

Also , if y doubt for Marek's check her feather roots that has to be enlarged & red due to the herpes virus .
But Skin Form of Marek's is the most lightest form there low mortality rate but bird stay carrier for lifelong ..

U should dust her with poultry dust

I agree with u

I would also switch to a higher protein feed. Like chick starter or some flock raiser. You can always add oyster shells on the side for the calcium. Coconut oil on the skin where it is dry and flaky will help.

Not sure about the skin being wrinkled, it may be because she is mixed breed?

The feather loss on the back of the head I am going to assume is from a rooster. The other loss, I see broken feathers with shafts still intact in the skin. She should grow back feathers once she molts in the fall.
There is no harm in applying some coconut oil or something like A+D ointment to the exposed areas.

Check her for lice/mites while you are tending to her skin. I don't really see anything concerning that makes me think Marek's. OP does not mention any symptoms of illness whatsoever except for feather loss.

Wow you so much! I can say that it wasn’t from a rooster, we got rid of it last year before any of the feather loss was happening. I will try your methods for the skin and hope for the best!
