Sick chicken. Need help on diagnosis

THIS is what creates antibiotic resistance. I hope your govt stops your access before antibiotics stop working for all of us.
So I shouldn’t treat my chickens when one has died from something, and even one previously had the same thing and died also? It’s a mild antibiotic. Go somewhere else and be a pest.

The OP has posted pictures of bloody poop. The sulfa antibiotics were recommended by 3 different people here to treat possible coccidiosis and enteritis. Worms, which they also have had, can cause blood in poop, so worming was also recommended.

the OP said she
Yeah I’ve had sulfa 3 before when one of my chickens got sick and died. I put that in there water incase any of the others had caught what she had, but they were fine.
so she treated chickens that were fine with an antibiotic as a prophylactic - and even one that didn't work the previous time :idunno

Because some people recommend its use 'just in case' does not make it the right thing to do. Anyone interested might want to have a look at this

“But they were fine” meaning they didn’t get worse and came good. If one shows symptoms or has been around that hen of course you will treat them. How about ask before you just assume. And didn’t work the previous time? When did I say it didn’t work? I didn’t give it to my sick hen? I was given the advice once it was too late. That’s why you ask questions before you assume and stop acting like you know everything that’s happened to someone you don’t even know 😂.

exactly. You don't even know what's wrong with them, and still use antibiotics like sweets.
Like sweets? Didn’t see my comment where I said I had used it ONCE before. Which was a year ago. Which means I only use it when it’s needed! And when it’s hard to find an avian vet where I live, what choice do people have? That’s right, to come onto sites like this to ask people for HELP. Not to be criticised and crucified for trying to help my pets! It’s called educating, not criticising people because you think you know better. If I’m desperate to save my chickens, and someone advises me on what to do, of course I will try it. Normal vets have no idea what is going on, so this is one of my only options. If someone wants to advise me and say “hey be careful with antibiotics, they can become immune”, I will take that on board. But I won’t have someone carry on and make me feel bad for trying to care for, or save my flock! So bugger off somewhere else and be negative.

Need some more help with my little baby. She’s off antibiotic and seemed to have come good. She’s got watery poo again after not eating much yesterday. She’s still getting some intestinal shedding in her poo and now looks mucousy again. Do I treat her again with antibiotic or try something else. I do also have Oxymav b, if the need arises to use it.

What antibiotic did you treat her with?

What was the dosage?

How long was she on it all together?

What date was the last dose?
She was treated with sulfa 3. I dosed her with the 12 drops per 100ml in her water dish. I did that for a full 7 days incase of coccidiosis. I then took her off the antibiotics and she was coming good. She’s then started with bad poo again, so I treated her again. I think the last dose I did was possibly a week and a half ago, could be longer. I can’t be 100% sure. I’ve been putting probiotic in her water to help with her digestion, but she’s gone downhill again. She’s usually very perked up, today she isn’t.

We’re you using the probiotics while using the sulfa 3? If so make sure that the probiotics did not have vitamins if you were using it for coccidiosis. If the probiotics contain thiamin it will not be as effective in the treatment for coccidiosis.
