View attachment 1664106 View attachment 1664107 she was fine one day and the next morning opened up the coop and she didnt come out to eat, came back from work she was still there while other chickens were out. She has been getting worse every hour. She sits still or lays down with eyes closed not moving at all, puts her head on the aide of the box like resting it, lets you pick her up and she will stay wherever you put her. Her comp has flopped down to the side, this started a couple of days ago while she was still lively.
She wheezes every once in a while and her belly makes noises and she has massive bright yellow diarrhea with some white in it and sometimes some normal poo pieces in it aswell. She didnt eat or drink anything for two days And today, the third day, in the morning she was drinking water non stop. And i thought she is getting better but now she seems like she is not all there, when she tried to drink water, she was pecking at air above it , looked like she cant see the distance or smth. And i put some wet grains in the box with her aswell ( i took her inside the day when she didnt come out of the coop)
She put her beak in the food and nibbled a little bit every once in a while, wouldnt call it eating.. and then she pecked at air again between the food and water bowl as if the missed the food bowl.
She is just standing in the box eyes closed at the moment and moving her head to the side and jerking it back over and over and over... getting worse and worse. Now its as if she is in la la land. She barely notices now when i walk in the room or touch her.
Im crying my eyes out i cant do this...
At first we thought it was eggbound.. but not sure because we got her a month ago, we were told it was laying heaps of eggs, and the day we got her she walked around squatting down and then getting up and so on like trying to find a place to lay. And soon she stopped doing that... and she has been lively and perfect for a month until two days ago now...
she has from day one always had poo on her butt feathers... las couple of days it got very smelly and mixed with yellow... until it just turned into complete yellow-white wAter.
we did the warm bath and rubbing belly... for a couple of times. Nothing.
Then Boylans gave me Aristopet Sulphadim. I hve been giving it to her as directed since 2pm today.... cuz i thought maybe she has coccidiodis...
please help !!

Oh and yesterday her comb ends turned purple and today when i got home at lunch time it was back to bright red again. And now in just an hour it turned back to purple again! Its completely fallen on to the side
Crop is squishy.

I gave her the Sulphadim drops on the spoon and she drank it no problems before but now 9pm i tried giving her some and it took so long for her to drink it.. its like she didnt see it infront of her, just felt me holding the spoon to her beak. And while she was drinking it, her head was jerking .. moving to the side and hwrkimg back so it was like she cant control doing it

So sorry to see she is so sick. Could be Maereks. You say you only had her for a month? Concerning you received a sick lady and didn’t realize it.

Oh goodness. Sounds like she going down pretty fast. I am so sorry. I think she should be tested for Maereks once she passes. Your vet should be able to provide you with the information on the process. We had to cull one of our ladies and send her to a lab where she was confirmed. The concern is if it is Mareaks dz, the other chickens are now exposed. it’s tough but hang in there!

I'm very sorry that your hen is sick:hugs If you have vet care, that is always best.
We need you to provide more information and photos - can you do that?
If you can reload your poop photos that would be very helpful, they do not work. This link shows you how to post photos

You can touch her eyeballs and she doesn't respond?
Have you inserted a finger inside her vent to check for an egg? She has not laid in over a month since you got her?
What do you feed?
Has she possibly eaten anything rotten, moldy or toxic?

Being able to touch the eyeball without much of a response sounds like Botulism, but she would almost be paralyzed at this point as well.
Feel her abdomen, is there bloat or fluid in the belly?
Is her crop empty, fluid filled, full, squishy, doughy?

I added a picture to the post now.

I can touch her eyeball... and only then she moves her head a bit yeah.
Tried and hecked for an egg... very confusing... can feel somwthing hard in the bottom but theres like skin between it... and when toiching her belly just under the vent.. its like a hard roundish thing...
I have never had chickens before so that is hard for me to tell what is normal and whats not... ill check the other chickens amd compare.
I dont think she is bloated ... but ia it normal that its hard like a bone on her right side up to the vent... but softnon the left side ... but this hard round bit again just below the vent.

Her crop last night was very squishy like soo full of liquid... but she never drank that much. Right now in the morning ... yep its still squishy or fluid filled..
Seems like there is so many things wrong.

Could you post a picture of her eyes? The weird neck movement does seem like a neurological sign which could be Mareks disease. Mareks can cause an irregular pupil or a greying of the eye in one or both eyes. The yellow bits in her poop seem common for egg material or bacterial infection in the reproductive system. Internal laying comes to mind.

I agree with Eggcessive, the yellow bits in the poop do seem to be a common theme in hens with a reproductive problem or infection. Egg Yolk Peritonitis, cancer, tumors, Internal Laying and Salpingitis can cause some of the symptoms that you are seeing.

The crop not emptying overnight could also be a symptom of an underlying condition like reproductive problems or infection. Swelling, inflammation or something blocking the intestines can cause a crop to become sluggish and fail to empty.

If you have vet care, that is best. Try to make her as comfortable as you can. Keep her hydrated, but see if you can work on clearing the crop. Read this article and report back to us.
