I just got a chicken today. She is a Silver Pencil Rock. When I first picked her up, her crop felt very soft, full, and as if it was full of fluid. The place that we got her at was in California, and the weather was above 100 degrees, same as where we live. (We are going through a heat wave.) Once we put her in the coup she had a very runny stool. She has isolated herself, but that may just be because our rooster wants to mate and our female is attacking her if she comes too close. I had to pick her up, so I tried to catch her, and she did run very fast for a decent amount of time, only stopping after she wedged herself under a bush where she thought she was safe. I picked her up, and I brought her inside, and a clear liquid erupted from her mouth. It did not smell bad, wasn't that warm (it landed on my foot) and did not feel acidic. I'm worried if my other chickens can get it, and if it is terminal, or if she is gonna be ok.
Thanks!
