Sick chicken

We have a 12 week old Rhode Island Red that isn't eating, is sleeping a lot and tips over when she tries to stand. I'm going to separate her from the other 5 chicks to see if it helps. She eats medicated food. Any ideas what might be wrong with her? Thx

Sorry about your bird. She shouldn't be on medicated feed anymore. She should be eating plain starter feed at this age. But you might want to post this in our emergency section for more help...

You should have had the chick on high protein feed 6 weeks ago but anyway you can up the protein by serving up a hard boiled pealed and mashed up egg the egg has plenty of vitamin B-3 niacin and protein for the little chicks ......

Sorry for some comments - you are new and that's why you are here. You came to learn and you will. No one is born bursting with knowledge.

Are the other chicks the same age, and on the same food as the ill one? If they are, I would wonder why they are not affected like she is. There may be some other factor that is causing her symptoms. I would mention how the others are doing - when you describe her problems. Hope she will be diagnosed,treated and on her way to recovery soon.
