Sick Frick in the 'hospital'

Some injectable pen g is very thick and may require a larger needle. Believe you me, I've been poked by all sizes and they all HURT.

I know how stressful it is when taking care of a sick animal and you are looking for something that will make the poor thing feel better.

I am amazed at what good patients chickens can be. When my husband and I first gave one of our hens a Pen G shot, she barely flinched. They seem to know we are trying to help them.

I hope Frick starts feeling better soon.

She had no breast muscle left at all to administer the pen-G to.Nothing at all. I did manage to get it into what was left of her thigh muscle Friday night. She slept with me on a towel Friday and Sat. night. I did get the bird formula at Pet Smart and syringed her some both Fri.and Sat. She had quit eating and drinking completely by Friday night. I went out and bought her a cheeseburger from McDonalds, she normally would KILL for that. wouldnt even think about it.

I couldnt see her suffer anymore. Sunday afternoon I put her down. I feel like such a failure. At least she is not suffering. I hope I did the right thing. I tried everything I could to save her.
