Sick HELP hen black austrolorp

Is it true that a pale face means she is dying? My sister told me that over the phone. She is still walking
A pale face doesn't mean she is dying or is for certain going to die. My hens get pale faces when they get dehydrated or when they've been laying in the sun too long, there's a variety of reasons a chicken can get a pale face. My Buff Orp has a naturally pale face and she's healthy and almost 3 years old now.

How is she doing today? How did her crop feel this morning? See any mites/lice last night? Can you post a picture of her vent? Lots of questions.

I'd continue to monitor her and feed her a scrambled egg/canned tuna/wet mash and get some fluids in her.

I’ll have to wait for help of a pic, can’t do by myself, not cooperating. She was on the ground this morning in the coop and not roosting. Also was sitting by itself. It is getting worse. I took it and put it back in the dog kennel in the house. Also I made it egg and crumble mixed with its medicated water. It did eat a bit of that. I had put it back with chickens because the pecking order was starting to be changing and there was fighting between the other chickens (which never happens). It back in the house now though. I’m gonna call vet to see if they do test for coccidiosis to see if it’s getting correct treatment. The crop was empty and actually it seems it is loosing weight, much lighter than normal.

Poor girl, a vet should be able to do a fecal test for cocci and other parasites. I would keep her separated until she heals up, the pecking order will re-establish itself and she needs to be isolated to protect herself and the other hens (in case of an infection). I'd also try and get her to drink or syringe dose her with liquids.

Let see if some others can provide some help:

Is she passing any cecal poop? Is her vent looking like it may be prolapsing (inside hanging out)?

What has she had to eat just prior to this trouble? Does she spend time digging in a compost bin? How about grass that has tough stems? Have you seen any bits in her poop?

Vet did a poop sample test and negative for worms and coccidiosis but she said that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have it. It just means it is not showing. They won’t do a fecal test without a exam here so I had to do the exam and image said she doesn’t know what’s wrong. She just said she is too thin, which I already knew. She was worried of merricks but I don’t see any symptoms of it. Anyhow it’s of coccidiosis meds now and I added nutrients drench to water. It’s also back with chickens per vet it’s fine. Answers to questions/“—-the poop I see is now black small (I think Cecil?) with white and clear liquid. Also have seen small green poop with white water. Her vent is normal. The one that happened about a week ago that was different was I was cleaning out behind the coop where they don’t go it was overgrown. I kept shooing the two black austrolorps back to keep them out of there but they are incredibly persistent and got back there anyhow so maybe there was something back there that made it sick. There was old wood we pulled out of there overgrown grass and some slugs and other bugs I’m sure. There are no bit of grass or anything in poop. The vet said it looks like it’ll she has been thin awhile but I told her no I picked her up on Sunday and she was heavy. She just lost weight fast. She eats but not much and drink but not much. Not roosting. Lethargic but still does g t around. The vet thinks reproductive and said antibiotics she didn’t see a need for. Have her water under the skin is all.

At the risk of sounding arrogant, I can probably give you as good a guesses as you got from this vet, not saying they weren't some help to you in narrowing down the hen's cause of illness.

Given her age and that she recently proved she's still laying, and mostly ruling out parasites, that leaves a bacterial infection or cancer from an avian virus. We can try treating the first, and if an antibiotic doesn't improve her, then we can probably assume that she has an incurable disease such as leucosis with cancer in her system.

I am suggesting what I usually do under these same circumstances. That is, put her on a ten-day regimen of a broad spectrum antibiotic such as amoxicilin 250mg once a day or divide the dose in half and give it twice a day for ten days. You should see improvement in two to four days if it's working. This is what I use and you can buy it here. https://www.kvsupply.com/item/aqua-mox-250mg-capsules-100-count/P06184/

I have some of that medicine on hand but how do I give all of it to the chicken? I have found the only way to get a chicken to take liquid is dripping it on their beak. When I try to open the mouth they move around and it doesn’t work. Probably not doing something right. The medication is worth a try as I can’t seeing it last much longer if it doesn’t improve soon. It did eat some tuna I put down for it yesterday in an attempt to get it to eat. I included some pics of poop from today. The one looks like it has a little blood. I just saw it drinking well from the bowl but not eating. It was just roosting a couple minutes ago.
