She is still fairly inactive, but is feistier every day that I am giving her the antibiotic and dewormer. She almost seems to have a limp. Time will tell I guess. She will eat oats like they are going out of style. LOL!
I'm going to try to bathe her this weekend. I'll do an epsom salt soak and try to get the manure off of her tail feathers. She has been sleeping in the nesting box (better balance I'm sure) and so the poop is getting kinda globby.
Keeping her bottom clean will be key since she is inactive and most likely not dust bathing much.
Poo collected on the bottom can cause irritation and attract unwanted critters like flies, which will cause more problems.
You are doing so well in taking care of her.
After she gets her spa this weekend, you need to take time out to give yourself one too
Ha. Thanks! I wish I could bathe her tonight but I am guessing it will take a long time. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I soaked some of their feed today. I might ferment some. . . she seems to like that and it will get her extra water.
It was a little harder. . . but easier that she died on her own. I took her in for a necropsy at the local Vet Pathology Lab. We've lost three under a year and I want to know what it could be.
