Sick hen...Impacted crop and not walking at all

I've been following along as this was going on and it was obvious you were working really hard. I'm so sorry she didn't make it. I do hope you are able to take a look inside as it should be quite informative and could help you or others in the future, but not everyone could do such a thing. At least the new chicks will ease this loss.
 
I thought about doing that but didn't feel I could stomach it so I had my husband bury her this morning before he went to work and the boys got up. But it would be a good way to learn what happen and to teach the boys. The took the news pretty good considering, the 4 yr old teared a bit but they asked about the other chicken we have inside residing in our master bathroom for the last 6 weeks. We found Momma Frizzle with no feather on her back end, since she is so tiny and one of my absolute favorites, I convinced my husband to let me bring her inside. She is one of my few hens that is broody and I took advantage of that and have her sitting on eggs. She's very spoiled
