I have a 2 year old sick hen, Mochi, that has yellow clear diarrhea, not eating, but is drinking some water. She is lethargic and weak.
She was molting over the past month, and I thought she separated herself from the flock, because of that reason. She also lost weight, and I figured it was because she was molting.
I realized over the last week she is not getting back into the flock or gaining any weight, so I separated her in a cage in my garage and realized she is having diarrhea and not eating.
I took her to a veterinarian and he said she does not have worms. He gave her a broad-spectrum antibiotic, Bactrim, and it’s been three days and she is not getting better.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or recommendations? Is it cancer?
All other chickens are acting healthy. She is normally our head most active hen. We use pine shavings in the henhouse. I do not think she has been poisoned, although she does free range outside of our chicken yard sometimes, but always stays on our land. Please advise!
