Hi I have a hen that has been acting kind of sick lately the last few days but this morning it got serous. So I went out there around 9 and she was still on the roost. I reached in and took her out and then a few seconds later she started going crazy she started flopping around with her eyes closed. I laid her on the ground and just kind of hit her and rubbed her on the back a little bit. I could feel her going stiff so I ran to get some water. I put some down her throat and after a little she stopped flopping around and opened her eyes. I have her in a pen all by herself right now. She just had a another seizure again or whatever it is and she threw up and now is panting. What should I do?

It sounds like she may have had something lodged in her airway, and you may have dislodged it. What you describe happened to a hen of mine when she tried to swallow a cherry tomato whole. When she couldn't draw a breath, she panicked and flew and flopped all over the place.

On the other hand, your hen could have a cardio/pulmonary issue and she did have a seizure, and more may follow.

Is it extremely hot there? What is your location?

Panting could be from heat or it could be stress. Please tell us how hot it is.
