I got 3 fresh hatched cuckoo ameraucanas on Wednesday. I put them in with 2 that are about a week old. One was dead this morning and one was close to it. The older chick was standing on it and pecking at it. Set it to the side, figured it was as good as gone. Went out a bit ago to give fresh water and the little thing was flat on its back in the box, peeping. I tried to get some Poly Vi Sol in it but the poor thing was not cooperative. It did take a little that was on it's beak. I moved it to my room under a light. It's legs seem real strong because it can push outta my hand but it can't stand up. Kinda rolls around and ends up on it's back. I propped it up so it stays upright. Not sure if it's hurt or weak from not eating/drinking all day. The older chicks aren't bothering the other young one at all. Maybe they knew this one was weak? Sometimes it peeps and sometimes it sings. Will occasionally open its eyes.
