He looks very puffy and like he has some scabs. How is his breathing? What does the inside of his mouth look like?

I know fowl pox can cause swelling and scabs. Are there mosquitos around where you live?

Is he still eating and drinking?

Are there any other flock members who are presenting similarly?

Hello, thank you for responding.

His breathing is normal, he corws all the time. Eating and drinking just like normal and no one else in our flock has this. We are in central Texas we usually have mosquitoes this time of year but not this year.

Well those are all good signs. Check him tonight to see if his crop is full before bed and then check him again in the morning to make sure it’s emptied again. Are his poops normal?

You can use Vetericyn spray or betadine or even some coconut or castor oil to dab on any crusty scabs or wounds you see to help them heal.

His poop is normal! It’s so weird everything about him is good, acts normal like nothing is wrong.

I guess just keep an eye on him, make sure he’s eating and drinking, pooping normally and that his crop empties overnight.

Do you have any other roosters or hens who might be bullying him?
